Ingredients
Instructions
  1. To prepare the Pappa Al Pomodoro, start with the preparation of the vegetable broth.
  2. Then place the tuscan bread on a cutting board and cut it into thin slices.
  3. Take a pan and after you cover it with baking paper, put the slices of bread side by side without overlapping. Bake at 200 ° C for a few minutes.
  4. Once extracted from the oven, leave it to cool. When the slices of bread are cooled, pass them over with the cloves of garlic, that are peeled.
  5. Now take a pan with high sides and put inside the bread. Pour in the tomato sauce and the vegetable broth, so that the slices of bread are totally covered.
  6. Now add the sugar and cook over low heat for 40-50 minutes, to evaporate the liquid. Stir occasionally to allow even cooking and to reduce the bread in jelly.
  7. Season with salt and pepper then, when the sauce is cooked, remove it from the heat and garnish with basil leaves, to give it a fresh and intense flavor.
  8. Serve your Pappa Al Pomodoro in bowls while it is still warm and optionally you can decorate it with chives and grated Parmesan cheese.
